The Uzbekistan judo team completed participation in the Grand Slam tournament in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, with 3 medals, the NOC reports.
The republic's athletes won 1 gold and 2 bronze.
On the final day of the competition, Utkirbek Turaboev, competing in the weight category over 100 kg, competed for third place. However, the Uzbek martial artist lost to the Dutchman Jur Spijkers.
Three representatives of Uzbekistan climbed to the podium.
Gold:
-52 kg: Diyora Keldiyorova.
Bronze:
-48 kg: Halima Kurbonova;
-60 kg: Doston Ruziev.
The next ranking judo tournament will be held from March 1 to 3 in Tashkent. Grand Slam medals earn athletes the points they need to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
